I started this blog because I couldn't get anyone to publish my articles about travel. Many of the posts are about Japan, where I spent three years. My last visit was almost eight years ago, and I have a feeling that I will never go back. I just can't face the journey anymore.
Other than Japan, my favourite country is probably Spain. The U.K. isn't bad either...
I drink a lot of wine too, so there are some articles about that. I particularly enjoy wines from Rioja, the Rhône Valley and Australia. In terms of grapes, I like Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo the most.
The Narrow Corner is a novel by W. Somerset Maugham, an English writer whose stories have afforded me great pleasure over the years. He was also a great traveller. I didn't have a good reason for choosing this title as the name of my blog, I just liked the sound of it.
