This started as a blog about travel, but has morphed into one which is more focused on wine.
I used to be almost exclusively a red wine drinker, but for some reason my preference has shifted to white wine over the past year or two. I think it's the tannins in red wine that finally changed my mind, along with what someone aptly described as the 'soporific effect' of red.
Many of the posts are about Japan, where I spent several years. My last visit was a long time ago, and I wonder if I shall ever go back. I hope so.
The Narrow Corner is a novel by W. Somerset Maugham, an English writer whose stories travelled round the world with me. The name brings back a lot of happy memories.
